But most memorable was the professional care and communication from John, the RN, caring for me in the hours following the operation. John managed my pain as needed, but just as important, he clearly explained what was happening now and what to expect next. His open personality welcomed me into friendly conversations with just a few words as he went through routines. I trusted his professional actions and got to know him as someone I’d call a friend and that was just one shift with John. St. Luke’s Heart Care and his dad, also an RN, can be proud of John.
