When my mom was in the hospital, she had 5 days of straight delirium from being septic. She was so sick and had no rest at all for 5 days. On about the 3rd or 4th day she got really sick. I was trying to calm her down to help her rest from exhaustion. I crawled into bed with her, laid down next to her, and was rubbing her hair, and singing gospel hymns to her.

John came in to check on her and stood there in the room with us. He sang Amazing Grace with me to my mom and she calmed down some. I needed that moment as much as my mom did. I will never forget the kindness and care he showed my mom.
