John is such an Extraordinary Nurse! He cares for each patient as if they were his own family. I couldn’t ask for a better coworker to share the weekend night shifts with. The best example of his dedication to his profession would be how he offered assistance to the ER during a mass casualty event. He was scheduled a shift in the ICU but was told the ER was having an influx of critical patients. He reported off on his ICU patients and went to help in the ER. Little did we know that the incoming patients were pediatric gunshot wounds. John jumped right in without thinking. He comforted a dying 15-year-old and her family the best he could. His dedication to both his team and patients was perfectly exemplified that night. This is just one small instance in which John has shown how great of a nurse he is! I can’t think of anyone else more deserving of a DAISY Award.
