My brother is currently hospitalized with severe liver failure and is deteriorating quickly. John has been our nurse for the second day in a row, 12 hour shifts, I am a nurse and I see things differently than most patient's visitors. I understand how busy, complicated, and unpredictable each shift can be. John has been very professional. He is staying on top of my brother's pain, he is calling the Dr. when I ask or when he has concerns. John is very knowledgeable and we are always on the same page regarding meds, care, tests, etc. What makes John different is his respect and compassion to both my brother and me. He treats my brother more like a friend and discusses personal things with him. He really listens when I ask question and always makes sure to follow through to get the answers. He works incredibly hard and he is running around, yet will stop and talk to you when you need something. With all the heart break I am currently experiencing I am so very thankful and blessed to have John as our nurse.
