My mother was very ill with Pneumonia and shortness of breath and needed to be on BIPAP. She was very scared, Matt stayed with her, held her hand spoke kindly but always honest with her and myself. He made an extremely scary situation seem normal and routine. When it came time for mom to be intubated, he eased her fear of not coming off the machine. He had the patience of Job, every time mom would wake up scared and pull on her BIPAP he was right there at her side calming her and helping her breathe. He made her smile when she wanted to cry and showed such a beautiful, kind soul with an amazing passion for his job and patients. I wish he could have stayed with us the entire time. I can’t say enough awesome things about him. He treated my mom and our family with more kindness than anyone, just like family.
