November 2016 Honoree
john manaog, BSN, RN
John is a dedicated oncology nurse who cares for his patients with empathy and compassion. Due to the volume of clients, at times our oncology patients are admitted on outlying units. It had been noted by John's colleagues that if an outlying treatment is running past his shift time John will not leave his patient. He chooses to remain with them rather than handover to another nurse until they complete their regime.
When asked why, he has said that he doesn't want any further disruption to his patient and also the incoming shift can focus on the unit. His thoughtfulness to his patients and colleagues has earned him tremendous respect and is someone who goes above and beyond in his role.

Thank you, John, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
