I was nervous about having a male-nurse, but let me reassure you that this young man is the “BOMB”! I would welcome him as my nurse anytime. First, he worked with my meds, he knew every med I was on, and I had a lot of what it was for. He was understanding of my privacy issues and honored them. He knew every wound that I had and asked to see them. Later, he came to me with a heparin injection and again was respectful of me. My family couldn’t come and was as embarrassed as I was to ask.

Having puke-mouth was awful, so I asked if I could have a toothbrush and mouthwash. He went to another floor to get me mouthwash, then he patiently walked me into the bathroom and stood with me (because I was on fall precautions) so I could brush my teeth. Then I was struggling to comb the multiple tangles in my hair. I couldn’t do it, so he asked if I would like him to do it. This young man combed out my hair – not pulling, just gently got the tangles out. This impressed me!!! He impressed me from the day he walked in until he left. I’m hard to impress! The fact that I’m taking the time to tell you how great he is should tell you something!

He's smart, on it, compassionate! He went above and beyond to care for me. I’m telling you, he’s not just a good nurse. He’s a great nurse! I’m also stating that he is a diamond that will shine for this hospital. Please don’t lose him, if you do, he will be a great loss. So please help him shine. I know he will impress you, too!
