Students who nominated John for this award stated: "John has a strong clinical background, making him a valuable asset to the hospital and college of nursing alike. He was my clinical group's first instructor when most of the students were very nervous. He was very understanding and patient with us. He has a way of making people, patients, students, and families feel comfortable, while at the same time commanding a level of respect that you would expect from a veteran nurse."
