John always had a great spirit about him and a great attitude when he came to visit my aunt.
John Pantanilla is an exemplary Hospice Nurse who always manages to bring great comfort and satisfaction to all patients and families he serves during end-of-life care. Families routinely call and send compliments regarding the skilled care and teaching that John is accustomed to providing. In addition, the facilities in which John services our patients report how they feel that John is like one of their own employees and that John makes a difference in encouraging families to seek our Hospice Services amongst other agencies.
Many others mention that John is irreplaceable and the best patient advocate. John is a knowledgeable and welcoming preceptor for our new nurses during and after the orientation process. John is a loyal and compassionate member of our team who should be recognized for his many years of dedication to elevating the standards of the healthcare experience of his patients and families in our community.
Below is a letter from a family:
"I am reaching out to let you know about what an extraordinary nurse you have. John was assigned as my aunt’s hospice care. From the first day my aunt met John, she raved about how great he was. Her exact words to me were, “He’s a good guy.” As I got to interact with John, I knew my aunt was right on target about her feelings toward John. John brought great peace to my aunt. He was patient and kind. He talked to her, prayed with her, and allowed her to have dignity until the very end of her life. John always had a great spirit about him and a great attitude when he came to visit my aunt. My aunt was always happy to see John, and when he left, aunt would say to him, “I love you. You’re a good person.” My aunt was a kind, reserved woman, and John came into her life and made her comfortable with having a stranger take care of her. For this, I cannot thank John enough. It was a tough time for our family to see our source of strength, our family champion, deal with all the challenges she encountered at the end of her life, but having John come in and help was really a gift. We could not have asked for a kinder or gentler soul to help us with our aunt. Thank you for employing such a caring and loving person."
