April 2022 Honoree
John Paul Alfante, BSN, RN
My daughter was admitted to your hospital in March 2016 where your burn unit was our home for two weeks. She had two surgeries during the course of her stay and had skin from her leg grafted over the burn on her stomach. Overall, she doesn’t remember anything. She was young, and heavily medicated. But she has a small pink bunny that was given to her prior to a surgery, by a nurse named John, who was trying to get her to calm down. (She was screaming and all the medical personnel on staff were staring at us lol). She sleeps with this bunny every night, it has a special spot on her bed, and it even goes to grandma’s house for overnight visits and on vacation with us! If you were able to find him for us, and perhaps provide us with his email address, we would love to send him a picture of this bunny and my daughter and thank him for everything he did.
Thank you, John Paul, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
