John exemplifies the kind of nurse that the patients and families as well as nurses, physicians, and other members of the health care team recognize as an outstanding role model. John's never-ending display of joy and affection for his patients is heartwarming and helps put the patients' fears at ease. In a department that experiences trauma, stress, and burnout in the nursing world, John exemplifies compassion, empathy, and uses his quick wit and humor to de-escalate high-pressure situations. We are very lucky John on our team in the Troy Emergency Center!
