You can't teach compassion. I have been a nurse for 13 years and there are times when you see people going above and beyond. On a recent Friday, I witnessed something amazing. As I was ready to leave my shift, I was walking down the hallway and peeked into a patient's room. I saw John giving one of our long length-of-stay trauma patients a haircut. John had brought his own clippers and supplies and stayed after his shift. It's people like John who really make a difference in our world. I am grateful to work with and honored to be his friend. Thanks for all you do!!
P.S. John always goes above and beyond for his coworkers and patients. This isn't the only experience I have seen.
