John acted like my armor to enter the fight and I cannot thank him enough.
Receiving a cancer diagnosis in one’s life ranks pretty far up the list of “worst news.” I received those words recently, which was quickly confirmed the next day. I did not move down to D4E for 10 days and then immediately started my first round of chemo the next day. John made the process bearable. It does not really sink in until they are setting you up for chemo, that “this is it…I really have cancer.” John made this realization easier with his positive attitude, professionalism, and dedication to patient care. John acted like my armor to enter the fight and I cannot thank him enough. John continued to inquire about my condition while my wife was visiting and routinely stopped by my room just to say “hi” reflecting the compassion shown by healthcare workers.
