I am an 86-year-old male cancer patient and have been treated for metastatic colon cancer since 2018. I have been cared for by many capable and skilled nurses at Aultman Hospital. John, however, stands out alone as an extraordinary nurse. John gave me a complete physical examination during intake. It was one of the best physicals that I have ever had. John then taught me to flush the lines on my bile bag and how to dress the incision. He was an outstanding teacher for me and all the nurses that cared for me.

I had the opportunity to watch John train a new nurse in my home. John’s teaching skills were obvious in the outstanding work of all his nurses. There are lots of great skilled nurses, lots of outstanding nurse trainers, and lots of great nursing supervisors; and then there is John. He does it all!
