Johnna Stevey, ADN
Johnna is an OR nurse at Reynolds Memorial Hospital who worked on the L&D unit here prior to closure. One day, a page was sent out for a potential C-section in the OR.
While currently running an OR room, Johnna was asked to be relieved to go help in the ER. Without hesitation, she went down by herself to assist. She had limited resources, as we don't have an L&D unit anymore. She worked diligently to help safely deliver the baby and assist in mom's care. When I went down to give Johnna supplies, she was assisting the new nurse in how to correctly perform assessments, guiding her about what medications to order, and helping her perform the proper care.
She was knowledgeable and explained to the patient what to expect next. She then cleaned up the entire room, placed all correct lab orders, and took specimens where they needed to go. She immediately jumped into action to help other nurses, but specifically the patient and her child.
