My mother has been a patient for the past several weeks. Last week we had several encounters with Johnny. The past month has been difficult for both my mother and me. After losing my grandmother to a massive stroke, my mom was admitted for pneumonia. Her treatment began at another hospital in which she was discharged from a little too early. She was brought to Methodist West where our treatment has been outstanding. After a cardiac arrest, she was transferred to ICU for several days. Which brings us to Johnny. Needless to say, we have been very stressed about the situation. My mother is easily stressed, and I think that Johnny was able to pick up on this. His kindness to her made her feel more comfortable with the spinal tap that they were able to start. While being concerned for her comfort he also was concerned about me. He had asked me on several occasions if there was anything that he can do for me. The following day my mother had another procedure in Interventional radiology in which my confused mother still remembers Johnny and she felt more comfortable with him. Again he was not only concerned for the patient but he was also concerned for me again. Out of the many professionals that we have had encounters with, Johnny has, without question, represented the hospital's ICARE values well. His compassion, Respect, and Excellence have truly shown to be outstanding.
