I would like to nominate Mr. Johnson Alechendem for the DAISY Award because of his dedication to duty and professionalism as a Nurse Administrator on the Augusta Campus. Mr. Johnson has worn many hats since his arrival in August of 2014. He has served in the role of staff nurse, Interim Associate Nurse Executive and currently as a Nurse Administrator. Mr. Alechendem has worked tirelessly almost every weekend throughout the Pandemic, covering the Augusta Campus and ensuring that our individuals and staff are safe. He goes above and beyond to oversee the direct care needs of the Individuals and their families. He maintains a positive attitude and willingly works overtime to cover the absence of his colleagues. He recently intervened in a volatile incident involving an aggressive individual, selflessly placing himself in "harm's way" to ensure the safety of our individuals and staff. He's caring, compassionate, and empathetic in every situation.

Last but certainly not least, Mr. Alechendem has demonstrated a commitment to excellence and professional development. He recently obtained Board Certification as a Psychiatric - Mental Health Nurse and graduated from Augusta University's Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner DNP Program. Dr. Johnson Alechendem is most deserving of the prestigious DAISY Award.
