Johnson Amelewu, RN

Johnson was my night shift nurse my first night after spine surgery. I was in a lot of pain and was nauseated. Johnson was so efficient at staying on top of my medications so that my pain and nausea were well controlled all night. Not only was he efficient at his nursing tasks, Johnson was such an interesting person to talk to. He was so personable, funny, and friendly. I really enjoyed swapping stories about our families and our previous jobs as teachers. Johnson paid attention to all the details each time he entered my room. He made sure my wife had linens and offered to help her pull out and make the bed. He took time to explain everything he was doing, every medication he was giving me, and he never seemed rushed to leave when he was in my room. Johnson even had some "magic trick" he used to give me my heparin injection that made it completely painless. I think Johnson is truly the definition of a caring, compassionate, and competent nurse.
