Through this, Jolie has exuded strength. She has brought my mom cards and gifts and has been a never-ending advocate for my mom.
My mom met Jolie Blankenship after her surgery. Jolie taught her how to properly care for her ostomy. When I went to also learn ostomy care, I was impressed with Jolie's straightforwardness, encouragement, and willingness to patiently answer all my mom's questions while teaching techniques. My mom was readmitted on Christmas Eve for post-surgical complications. Jolie stayed late the night my mom was admitted, delaying time with her own family in order to take care of my mom's growing wound and demanding ostomy care.

While my mom was in the hospital, Jolie came by daily to encourage, teach, and remind my mom that she cared. I again saw Jolie's patience, knowledge, and kindness when I went to the hospital to learn the new wound care before discharge. My mom was admitted a third time with a similar wound issue a month later. She is still in the hospital and given the current status of the pandemic, the family is unable to visit. Through this, Jolie has exuded strength. She has brought my mom cards and gifts and has been a never-ending advocate for my mom. I appreciate this gentle, strong woman. I appreciate her care, knowledge, intrepid nature, and kindness.
