Since Nov of 2021, I have needed to go to IVIG treatments for my rare autoimmune disease. My body needs the medicine, but it certainly loathes the journey. Over the past year Jo, using her formidable skills as a nurse, with patience and diligence, has continually engaged with my immune system in what I can only describe as an ongoing chess match. My immune system responds one way and Jo countermoves. Looked in battle Jo continues to dominate the metaphorical chess board until the final checkmate. I think the quality of a medical professional is reflected when exceptional care is given time, and time, and time again. I acknowledge that ER nurses and others are not afforded the opportunity to know their patients well like IVIG does. Conversely, being at the hospital every two weeks 7 hours each time would allow me to witness a nurse's "Bad Day". Statistically, I know Jo MUST have bad days, but I am never aware of when she does, Jo consistently gives her best. Every. Single. Time. To sum up, Jo of the IVIG unit is a consummate professional and I am grateful.

Jolyn has always been one to step up and help. She was working an infusion shift during the day and found out that there had been a sick call for the Emergency Department that night. Jo volunteered to help in the ED that night despite her working infusion that day and having to work infusion the next day. After she finished her infusion therapy shift, she slept for a few hours here in room 2. She then went and worked in the ED for the night so that they would not be shorthanded. After working all night, she got a few more hours of sleep in room 2 and then worked another busy infusion shift. Jolyn is a great example of stepping in to help. She is a great nurse and provides extraordinary care to the infusion therapy department and the emergency department. Patients have expressed how great of a nurse she is. She is very knowledgeable and a great resource for our hospital. WE are lucky to have. We love you!
