Most recently, Jon went to the Med Surg Collab to present and advocate an idea. If successful, this could help to reduce hospital acquired infections (HAIs) BayCare wide related to central lines and care of central lines, thus improving patient care and outcomes. Additionally, Jon, along with the unit's Nurse Managers, meet frequently with new hires during orientation to address concerns and discuss opportunities for learning. Jon is consistently rounding on all his units, teaching and educating the nurses helps with all rapid responses, stroke alerts, STEMIs, and code blues. Recently, Jon created a makeshift continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) set-up to educate and better help a new nurse understand.

This open communication allows staff a voice with the nurse educator to address potential barriers in providing excellent patient care.
