Our daughter is, unfortunately, a seasoned patient who has had many procedures. This can bring a lot of anxiety when having any procedure now. She had surgery and was extremely nervous about the whole experience. Jon has been a Godsend. He has been on task, meeting every physical need and has brought a refreshing distraction with his humor and bedside manner. Our daughter is blind and has had many nurses who did not know how to relate or communicate with her in a way that reduced her anxiety. Jon has been fervent in thinking about illustrating all that is going on, to give her information since she is unable to see what is happening. He has been extremely respectful and has made this experience much less stressful than it could have been.

Jon went above and beyond during our stay at Dayton Children's Hospital. We met him during our second day and the rapport he established with our four-year-old daughter was sweet to watch. They exchanged Frozen and other silly knock-knock jokes and cute card tricks. Jon was thorough during his visits, and although every other call light seemed to be going off, he was prompt and attentive. My husband and I were genuinely impressed with him. When you think about the ideal nurse who would be working at a children's hospital, Jon is the exemplar.
