Jonah Samoy, BSN, RN

Jonah is not only an outstanding nurse to his patients, but also an outstanding coworker. He is always going above and beyond to make sure his patients and coworkers are taken care of. One of many examples of this was recently when a patient came into the OR that turned out to need a higher level of care than originally anticipated. We already had a heart case going so there were no available heart team nurses to help out with the case. Jonah came in to help on his day off because he wanted to not only help out the patient in need of care but he wanted to be there for his coworkers when they needed help. He is the first to volunteer and often goes out of his way to make sure his patients and coworkers are taken care of. He is approachable, humble, highly skilled, and stays composed and calm in emergent situations, which are excellent qualities to have as a charge nurse. He is the definition of a team player and an asset to the Perioperative Department.
