Jon is role model; he genuinely cares about each and every patient, and most importantly, cares about all of his coworkers. He goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone is comfortable and understands what is going on. He is a great teacher and does not judge even when the dumbest questions are asked.
Last month, I was the only person to show up to the PPC meeting, so I texted him wondering if it was cancelled. There was a mix up in the dates, so he drove to Presby and met with just me to discuss the new mentor program we are working on. He is extremely passionate about this program and motivates me to brainstorm ideas to help new hires become comfortable and happy working on our unit. We are hoping that this program can help new and experienced nurses get comfortable with working on our unit and help them have a fulfilling, happy career. There is no one who deserves this award more than Jon. He is all-star nurse and deserves recognition for all of the hard work he does on and off the unit.
