Jonathan Kendrick, RN

 In the fast-paced, often unpredictable environment, Jonathan has demonstrated remarkable clinical and critical thinking and the ability to act decisively under pressure. Whether managing life-threatening emergencies or caring for patients with less acute needs, he has provided the same high level of attention, respect, and professionalism to all of his patients.

In particular, after implementing a fast track area in the Emergency Department, Jonathan was observed caring for a 13-year-old who came in for chest pain. In our world, this is a very mediocre complaint, but in the world of a 13-year-old, having chest pain is a big deal. I was happy that he treated her with the utmost concern and comforted her, reassured her and her family.

This gentleman is amazing at helping the team with codes and difficult patients but also has the tenderness left for our overlooked population in the Emergency Department. He is revered by his colleagues as a valuable resource and has demonstrated the kind and compassionate nursing that is sometimes lost as a nurse with such a long tenure. I am proud to have him as a member of our team.
