My father was admitted to Miami Valley Hospital for a stroke. His nurse, Jonathan Shroyer, walked into the room, introduced himself and asked us if we had any questions. We asked about the stroke and Jonathan explained everything to us so we would understand it. He is so intelligent and you could tell by the way he talked. We could tell in his voice he cared. What really put the icing on the cake was when Jonathan got down on one knee, looked my dad in the eye and asked, "Wink, what can I get you to eat?" At that moment a tear ran down my face. He showed such concern toward my dad as I am sure he does all his patients. I want him to know the little things matter. Thank you, Jonathan!

Jonathan Shroyer was my day nurse on the Neuro Unit for three days. His knowledge, dedication and energy are commendable. His personality is very pleasant as is his bedside manner. I was very fortunate to be his patient.

Jonathan is a nurse and team leader on 6E Neuro Unit. As someone who has worked here almost six years, I have seen a lot of nurses' work. Jonathan shows all the qualities of a great nurse.

Day in and day out I see Jonathan work along side his coworkers, offering assistance and compassion while also being a role model for other nurses and myself. Jonathan will drop what he is doing, without complaint, to help a patient or family member. It is everyday I see him exemplify the MVH standards of respect, compassion, intelligence and excellence. I feel that he needs to be acknowledged for his constant amazing work and patient care.
