Jonathan is a young nurse with a few years experience. He showed a willingness to gain an understanding of a patient’s health care issues. In my case, I dealt with AIRS, chemotherapy induced end stage chronic pancreatitis, an osmosis process that operates in reverse radiation endocarditis, collagenous colitis, Crohns – a lot which in concept causes bowl movements that are unpredictable in amount, timing, and consistency. Added to that I also have dumping syndrome which releases fecal matter unexpectedly. Jonathan, above all others, always made me feel at ease and not to feel embarrassed. He made me feel like I was being cared for and even more importantly, like a human being that was just sick and managing multiple systematic issues at one time. He ensured I had appropriate supplies for personal cleanup.

Jonathan was enthusiastic to gain knowledge about my conditions as well as explain every medication and what to expect as well as adjust my IV rate so my pain level was managed. There was never any type of sarcasm, rudeness, impatience, or frustration. He has a bright future in medicine and is capable of being a nurse practitioner, MD and/or a pharmacist PhD. His display of enthusiasm, care, timely responses, and professionalism are quite rare.
