Jonathan works as the ICU Coordinator, but he covered the BMT unit a lot while we had an open coordinator position. He has the unique ability to maintain professionalism and leadership while showing concern and compassion towards the nurses. He is always willing to listen to what the nurses have to say and tries to find solutions that work best for everyone involved. He comes to work with a positive attitude and spreads that positivity to those around him.
Jonathan is always willing to help out with whatever we need on the floor. One night, we had been having an unusually busy night on the floor. He volunteered to admit and take care of a patient for us at 0500 so that we would not be even more overwhelmed than we already were. He voluntarily chose to help us with the admission, and he did it without complaining. He kept a positive attitude and it really made a difference in the rest of our shift. I was very impressed with the way he handled the situation. He could have chosen to make it all about his busy night, but instead, he humbly chose to help us with no complaints which resulted in the rest of us having better attitudes because of his example.
