Getting a diagnosis of Stage 4 cancer is shocking and bewildering! As a retired nurse who spent 45+ years in the Maternal-Child nursing world, I knew NOTHING about cancer care or resources. Joni stepped into my care team and I felt so reassured! She not only sits in on my office visits (not just oncology!) but quietly works behind the scenes, searching out resources to aid in my care—like an elf! I cannot express how much her care has lessened my anxiety and given me hope for the best quality of life in the years I have on earth! Her comprehensive approach to my care extended to my family as well. Joni knew that 2 of my grandchildren had experienced some unfortunate family circumstances. The 2 children came to live with my spouse and me. Although 2 and 5 year-olds are delightful, the financial and energy drain was significant. There again Joni intervened and submitted their names for extra help at Christmas. The look of surprise and joy on their faces on Christmas morning brought me such relief and happiness. Joni is a god-send!
