She makes them all feel important, listens to their concerns, and provides them with reassurance.
I would like to give recognition to Joni Winningham in the outpatient behavioral health clinic. Not only does Joni dedicate herself to the patients, but she also works endless hours and stays until she gets every patient in need called back before heading home to her own family. Joni has such a big heart and has earned so much respect throughout the clinic from her patients, coworkers, and clinic providers. If a patient comes into the clinic in a crisis or just needs someone to talk to or a co-worker/provider needs help. Joni always drops what she is doing and does it with a smile. Anyone who knows the outpatient behavioral health is a very busy clinic. Joni knows her patients by name and loves to see progress in each patient. Joni has been a nurse in mental health for many years, and her recognition is well overdue and well deserved. Joni has always put everyone first. Now, it’s her time to be recognized for all the hard work, dedication, and compassion throughout the outpatient behavioral clinic. Joni, you make us all proud to be part of your team. Thank you.

***

Joni has been a part of our Behavioral Health System for 22 years. During that time, she has always excelled in providing compassionate care to all of her patients. Almost every night, she stays late, returning phone calls and providing support, guidance, assistance, education, and empathic/caring listening to all of her patients. She consistently performs above and beyond and is quick to help her co-workers and provide guidance, leadership, and advice. She never missed a day. Her demeanor is exemplary. Despite the fact that she carries a very large caseload, she knows all of her patients well, and she makes them all feel validated and seen.  She makes them all feel important, listens to their concerns, and provides them with reassurance. I constantly hear from our patients how much they appreciate her and how thankful they are for all the time and patience she dedicates to them. I fully believe she deserves this recognition.
