Jonni Keith, BSN, RN

Jonni was working a normal shift and didn’t expect anything to happen. On this day Jonni felt a tap on her shoulder. When she turned to look, she saw a fellow employee turning reddish purple as grabbing her neck and looked terrified. Jonni asked her if she could breathe, and the employee shook her head no. That is when Jonni knew this was an emergency and sprung to action. She performed the Heimlich maneuver on this employee and eventually dislodged some food that had almost caused the employee to pass out. If not for Jonni’s quick thinking this employee may have suffered a terrible outcome. We are so grateful to have nurses like Jonni that step up to the plate when we need them the most. Thank you, Jonni, for being the best team player and saving not just patient lives, but the lives of colleagues as well.
