It is a pleasure to nominate Patience Cordor for the DAISY Award. Patience shows integrity with her patients and their families. I watched her closely as she interacted with my father. My father was very sore in his private areas and cleaning him without causing him pain was a challenge. She took her time and gave special care to him to be sure she did not cause him pain. She made sure to add cream to him each time to help with healing. She also instructed others to check on him frequently and with care. She showed excellence by stating a time when she would return, and she was on time with that promise each time. She showed respect to my father by taking the time to try and understand him when he spoke to her. She leaned close and politely asked him to repeat it, even though he was hard to understand in his state of mind. Others may think these examples are minimal but after experiencing care from others it was a breath of fresh air to see just a dedicated and loving nurse.
