During all this time, he never left her side. He held her hand and reassured her when she was very anxious and could not breathe.
My grandmother was recently admitted to the hospital with asthmatic bronchitis. The second night of her stay, she had a huge decline and became unstable. She had fluid overload and couldn't breathe. The nurse called a Rapid Response, to which Jordan responded from the ER. He stepped in and immediately took control of the situation. He contacted her doctor and painted the picture for the doctor to know exactly what was needed. After giving her several medications and a BIPAP, she started to be able to breathe a little better. He moved her to step down for a higher level of care. During all this time, he never left her side. He held her hand and reassured her when she was very anxious and could not breathe. My grandmother is 88 and is a DNR per her decision. I say that to say if GOD had not placed Jordan in her room that night, I know the outcome would have been different. Jordan showed confidence, compassion, critical thinking, and a passion for nursing. I cannot think of a better recipient for the DAISY Award.
