Jordan Barksdale

During the time Jordan was doing her preceptorship with me she always came in with the best attitude and willingness to learn. During her time, we had many difficult patients; however, one patient in particular was not only going through DTs but had also just been placed in hospice. Many nurses on the floor, including myself, were unable to get the patient to take any of their needed medications. Jordan approached the patient with her sweet demeanor and not only got the patient to take all of the medications that were ordered but also took the time to sit with the patient and talk. I know situations like this are not ideal for any nurse, and Jordan by no means had to do this, but she did. We ended up having the patient multiple nights, and each night, Jordan would take time to go talk to the patient. There are not a lot of nurses who take time to do things such as this, but Jordan made it a point each and every shift. I know that once Jordan graduates, she will touch many families and patients with her kindness and knowledge.
