Jordan (Jojo) Cartwright, RN

Thursday night I came home from work and found my husband laid out on the floor. After a trip in the ambulance and some time in the Emergency room he ended up on the Med/Surg floor. Jojo was his nurse for 3 out of the 5 days he was here. A little backstory about my husband. He struggles with his memory and can be difficult to work with when he is in the hospital. He may come across as difficult and non-compliant when he is trying to communicate and does not understand what is going on. Jojo was able to connect with him and create a relationship of trust. She has been able to get him to be pleasant and compliant when others have struggled. This helped to make sure that the necessary treatments were given in a timely manner and he is able to get stable enough to come home. Her advocating for my husband and supporting him in his healthcare decisions sets her apart as an exceptional caregiver in the nursing field.
