Jordan was such a light during my recovery from fetal surgery. Those first few nights were some of the most physically and emotionally challenging moments I have ever experienced, and Jordan made all the difference. She didn’t just care for me clinically; she truly cared for me as a person.

Jordan helped me advocate for myself when I was overwhelmed and unsure, making sure my concerns were heard and addressed. Her attentiveness to my pain management and overall comfort demonstrated a high level of clinical skill, but what stood out even more was the compassion behind everything she did.

She went above and beyond in ways that may seem small but meant everything in that moment - from helping me fix my hair when I couldn’t, finding a memory foam mattress pad so I could rest more comfortably, and even tracking down a fan to help me sleep. During difficult ultrasounds, constant monitoring, and the many uncomfortable side effects of recovery, she was always present, calm, and understanding.

Jordan created a sense of safety and trust not just for me, but for my husband as well. She made us both feel supported, informed, and cared for every step of the way. She collaborated seamlessly with the rest of the care team while always advocating for my needs and preferences.

She felt like a best friend who truly had my back during one of the hardest experiences of my life. When people ask me about my recovery, I always tell them about the incredible nurse on the night shift who helped carry me through those first days.

She is exactly the kind of nurse the DAISY Award was created to recognize.

Thank you, Jordan, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
