Jordan is a bedside nurse that holds every quality a care giver should.
My mom was admitted into the hospital with Covid and passed away 3 1/2 weeks later in the IMC unit. During her length of stay, a family member always remained by her bedside. Jordan was the one nurse that always stood out to me, my step-father, and my sister. She always made sure not only my mom was taken care of but would also check on us and ask if we needed anything. Her attention to the little things made the biggest difference: writing her name on the communication board as the RN during shift rotation, making sure the bedside tray was within my mom's reach, making sure the room was clean and doing everything with compassion and a smile.
My mom was not able to communicate that often given her disease process and treatment, but she made sure to tell me Jordan was her favorite and made her feel safe. As the daughter of an ill patient, that is one of the best things I could ever hear, my mom felt safe! My mom passed away while Jordan had a stretch of days off. When she returned to work, she saw the room was no longer occupied by her. She took the appropriate steps and had her manager reach out to me to see if it was okay if we could talk on the phone. I called her immediately and we grieved together. For her to share how my mom touched her life made my day. Jordan is a bedside nurse that holds every quality a care giver should. She is caring, compassionate, gentle, kind, communicates well, has effective time management, and truly loves her job. She is a true angel and I am forever grateful she was able to meet and care for my mom. Jordan attended my mom's funeral and that alone showed me how big her heart really is. She shared with me that was the first funeral of a patient she ever attended. Nursing is a profession where we are just as touched by patients as patients are touched by us and to share and show our own emotions is not always the easiest. Any patient to have Jordan as a nurse is a lucky one!
