I have been a patient of HSS since 2012 after a serious automobile accident that changed my life forever. Under the incredible care of the staff there, my life has begun to improve. It has been a very tough 11 years of chronic pain, depression, anxiety and the fear of never being myself again. Going in and out of the hospital for various procedures is so stressful and scary in itself. I had the distinct pleasure of having Jordan Ocana assigned to me in June during an extremely difficult, stressful and painful procedure at HSS. Jordan was instantly kind, compassionate and dedicated to me from start to finish. I know I would’ve never made it through that procedure without him. I had no anesthesia and the pain was excruciating and he stayed with me and kept me calm and got me through it. In December I had to undergo a trial for a spinal stimulator to help reduce chronic pain and I was extremely anxious and nervous about it. While I was being prepped for the surgery, to my delight, Jordan appeared as my nurse assigned once again to me. I could have cried, I was so happy and so relieved knowing the care that I was going to have from such an extraordinary gentleman. If I could request Jordan for every patient visit and or operation I would, I would even pay extra to have him assigned to me. He is such an extraordinary human being , he goes out of his way for his patients and HSS should be so proud that he is part of the team because he is a difference maker.
