Jordan is a nurse I remember seeing on orientation. She has always been caring and thorough.

Jordan had gotten my patient for the night shift who was a Spanish-speaking gentleman. I came back the next morning and received the patient back. My patient was incredibly well taken care of. The patient had frequent neuro checks and due to the language barrier, it was slightly difficult.

Jordan returned to work that night and had gone home earlier that morning, and learned the Spanish terminology for NIH scoring, questions, for example, “squeeze my hands”. This was above and beyond nursing care, to go out of your way, to make a patient feel more comfortable during an extremely scary and difficult time is admirable.

Jordan set a very good example of what it means to be a compassionate nurse. She is who we should all strive to be like as nurses. I have never seen this nurse without a smile. She has such a welcoming, caring, and joyful presence.
