Jordan immediately went to where the patient was, helped get her to the ground, and promptly started CPR.
One of our 90-year-old patients finished up with her phlebotomy appointment and was heading to check-out. All of a sudden, she sat down on a chair in the hallway and began agonal breathing. Two nurses assessed her and determined she did not have a pulse. I ran to the infusion room to grab the vitals machine, AED, and an Ambu bag. I told Jordan what was going on and she sprang into action. She immediately went to where the patient was, helped get her to the ground, and promptly started CPR. She did about 10 compressions before the patient came to and began breathing normally. Jordan then started an IV on the patient and began giving her IV fluids until EMS arrived and took over. Her quick action saved the patient's life that day. She is a great nurse and is someone you can count on to make sure patient safety is a priority.
