Jordan is everything a great nurse should be, she is sweet, sensitive, empathetic, calm in stressful situations, knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful. Jordan came to work at the Childbirth Center as a resident nurse 5 years ago. She quickly learned post-partum, then trained to labor. She began receiving compliments from patients and their families about her supportive care even during orientation. As she gained confidence in her new role as a labor nurse, she took on orienting new nurses, she is currently a relief charge nurse and continues as a preceptor for new nurses. She is admired by her co-workers as well as providers. As a labor nurse, she keeps the charge nurse up to date on her patient's progress and is confident while still striving to educate herself in the most evidence-based practice. When faced with challenging situations she maintains a positive calm demeanor. She is a team player and helps her co-workers out. Jordan also has a fun side and always has a smile and hello when she comes to work. She is a strong voice for patients and their families while still maintaining a professional bedside manner.
