Jordan is continually providing all CCU staff with knowledge and skills on the unit. His ability to not only take care of patients but also provide his peers with the support and guidance needed to take care of patients places him as one of the top-notch nurses that Essentia Health has to offer. There is no doubt in my mind that he is one of the best nurses I will ever have the privilege to work with, and he is definitely way past any steps on the career ladder. The dedication that Jordan places at Essentia Health should not go unnoticed, believe me, his coworkers will vouch for that statement. Now that I have talked him up, let me provide you with some examples:
1. Jordan continuously holds classes for the RN's at night to either provide them with initial education or just as a refresher. Even willing to provide a hands-on learning environment whenever the opportunity provides/allows.
2. Provides reinforcement to fellow nurses which thus gives them the confidence to be a better nurse because he understands that some people can't believe in themselves until someone else believes in them first.
3. Always motivated to assist anyone with any task that is needed because he knows that it is not our abilities that show what we truly are, it is our choices.
4. Provides positive feedback when needed, i.e. someone is overwhelmed and providing them with good words, good thoughts, and good deeds.
5. Uses tact when providing constructive criticism in private, but yet praises in public, thus providing a positive atmosphere for all.
6. Not only is he calm in numerous stressful situations but he is able to critically think it through.
7. Jordan is always one of the first to respond when you need help with anything. He is also a great leader and is very patient. He provides great patient care but is also an amazing charge nurse.
8. His healing presence has always had a positive effect on aggravated patients, especially when using oshibori.
9. Very diligent to make sure that the bedside report is being completed in a timely and efficient manner, along with making sure all drips and restraints are properly reviewed, documented, and titrated appropriately.
10. You can ask any employee; he is very approachable and never treats you like he is better than that person.
11. They often say that patience is a virtue, and in that case, he is a saint. More than willing to take time out of his schedule to make sure that the next shift is set up for success.
12. Always utilizing and researching the latest evidence-based practice information toward his practice and spreading that knowledge onto others.
13. An excellent patient advocate by making sure all of their concerns are being addressed and stopping the line when necessary because he realizes that it's all about the patient.
14. Continues to enforce hand hygiene compliance, even if that means educating family members.
15. His leadership abilities make any shift to run more smoothly than they could. As you have read there are numerous qualities that Jordan portrays that give him the title of being a good leader. If you need more, just ask and I will take the time to write a book, but at the end of the day, everyone knows and realizes that when they see his name on the schedule, they'll have a friend in him.
