Jordana Welch was nominated by a peer for her innumerable acts of loving kindness. The peer shared how Jordana has taken the symbol of peace and compassion that she always wears around her neck and selflessly given it to a patient or struggling RN to keep. The peer stated that Jordana "has taught me the awesome power of the supportive presence, even with those patients whom it may be hardest to provide it to."
Jordan learned about a dying patient's passion for music and his love for the song "Love Train". When Jordana took the patients hand and sang "Love Train", the intubated, sedated patient responded to the rhythm. His eyes opened and he smiled. The day the family decided on inpatient hospice, the patient wouldn't respond. Jordana took his wife's hands and sang "Love Train" once more. The patient died peacefully hours later.
