Jordyn was my nurse the morning after I got admitted into the hospital for contractions. I was very scared as I had heard from family and friends that your experience during birth can be amazing or terrifying all depending on your nurse. I can gladly say I will never forget this birthing experience because of her. Jordyn was always there to support me with her kind words and gestures during my epidural, using Pitocin, monitoring the baby's heart to make sure everything went correctly, helping me to lay in the correct positions to keep everything transitioning slowly, and finally during my unexpected cesarean section. She made me feel so welcomed and even when I was afraid for my life, she made sure to let me know we were going to do this together and that everything was going to be alright. We just had to make sure myself and baby were going to make it okay. Jordyn made me feel like family, the way she treated me was extraordinary and for that I am thankful every single day. I will never forget my first birthing experience here at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. Although it was not what I planned, it was nothing short of amazing, thanks to the amazing staff provided to me. I am blessed.
