I remember he gave me his condolences since he had to deal with the seriousness of the disease and death of my father. He showed that he was not only a nurse, but a person who cared for his patients, remembering that he was not only a great professional but a great person as well.
My father was hospitalized for 14 days with multiple heart failure, his health condition became more complicated, leading to the need to be transferred to the intensive care unit. Being an acute and serious condition, where every day there was a new complication and another test to be taken to come up with a diagnosis.
All the nurses were very patient with us, with our questions and concerns, without a doubt we are grateful to everyone, but mainly to Angel. I am a doctor, and I can say that Angel always showed himself very professional to my dad as a patient, he tried to explain the tests that had to be done, the need of different treatments and everything what was happening.
Angel was always keeping my dad company when we were not around. If the need to make an urgent study came up, he was aware, calling the lab since he knew that minutes could make a difference with my dad’s treatment. He was respectful, dedicated, professional, upright, and interested in getting to know the patient to achieve the best outcomes.
My dad, unfortunately, had a complication that took us to the downside. Angel provided palliative care as much as possible, and even with sedation, he maintained respect for the patient, calling him by his name when he had to give his medications and to other procedures he performed.
When my father died, he was very respectful when taking away the medical devices, he cared about keeping my father clean and that he was very dignified, it is something that I will always be grateful for, because he maintained my father's dignity until the last moment.

Today I can say that Angel was the best nurse who could take care for my father, his work as a nurse was key in my father's treatment and that reaffirmed that San José hospital was the best place for the management of my father illness.
Thank you so much Angel, you are a great human being.
