Anybody who has worked with Jose will agree when I say that he is an extraordinary team player. I find him always selflessly stepping up to help others (colleagues and patients) on multiple occasions, and he deserves to be recognized for this. When I or another nurse have called a rapid response or have a patient declining and ask for help, he’s ALWAYS there. If someone else’s patient bed alarm/emergency alarm or even a standard call light is going off, he doesn’t hesitate to respond. When I think about it, he is the most responsive, in fact, when it comes to responding to other patients that are not even his. It’s not only my patients, but I’ve run into him WAY more than others when responding to an alarm. And he doesn’t just walk in and say, “Oh, you got it?” then walk out. He gloves up and offers help. He’s helped me “tag team” in taking care of someone else’s patient without hesitation. It is evident that he genuinely cares for ALL our patients, especially their safety. Today, when I asked multiple people for help in feeding a patient, he was the only one who responded and was at the patient’s bedside in a heartbeat. I greatly appreciate how much he helps and admire his never-ending selflessness. Because of this, he deserves recognition for ALWAYS  being a team player and a caring/compassionate nurse. HMC is very lucky to have him as a nurse, and we are very lucky to have him working with us.

Thank you, Jose, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
