I went into the ER with severe abdominal pain. He was kind, compassionate, responsive, respectful, understanding, and made me feel well cared for and understood. He listened to my reason for coming in, was attentive, and went out of his way to ensure I received the best care possible. He never acted like I was a bother, always followed up, and did what he said he would. He made the transition from the ER to the floor I was admitted to seamlessly, and I could tell that he became a nurse for all the right reasons. He was never flustered, even though he was very busy the entire time I was in the ER, but always took the time each patient needed to make us all feel valued and cared for. Joe’s a rock star, and his sunflower tattoo is so very appropriate because he is a sunflower, always bright and cheerful, and can turn your frown upside down. He went above and beyond to make me feel validated and comforted during a really trying time. His skills are evident and made me confident that I was receiving the best care possible! Way to go, Joe!
