Joseph is the most amazing nurse. Being a nurse on a psychiatric unit is challenging, but this nurse makes it look easy. They are always willing to help patients, whether they are assigned to them or not. I met this nurse over 3 months ago when I first came to the unit. I have been depressed and chronically suicidal. Anxiety is also something I struggle with. Being a patient here can be stressful, especially when the unit is full. This nurse is quick to talk me down if I'm upset and remind me I'm here for myself and not to let others get to me.

This nurse always delivers my meds on time. If my anxiety is bad and they have time, they will try to distract me with a board game like Sorry or Yahtzee. This nurse encourages other patients to join in. They work long shifts and I know they are tired, but they will often stay late to cover another shift if someone calls out. This nurse is quick with a smile or a joke. Please consider them for this honor. They are the best of the best.
