LTC Reginaldo truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. He is a beacon of hope during times of uncertainty, a model of nursing excellence, and a steadfast advocate for both his patients and his team.
LTC  Joseph Crisostomo B Reginaldo NC is not a leader by title alone, but a leader in vision, action, and heart. Under his exemplary stewardship, the hospital has attained numerous milestones that have significantly advanced both military and civilian healthcare delivery in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Under his leadership, a total of 632 medical evacuations and patient referrals were successfully executed from the Tabak Division to various medical facilities across the region, ensuring timely and appropriate care for personnel requiring urgent or specialized medical attention. Furthermore, he facilitated the deployment of 952 medical teams in support of various command activities, including field operations and training exercises, initiatives critical to maintaining operational readiness. His commitment to community engagement is equally evident, with numerous civic action programs conducted, which deliver essential healthcare services to underserved populations and strengthen civil-military relations, benefiting a total of 1,640 individuals.

LTC Reginaldo’s leadership style is grounded in service, empathy, and integrity. He empowers the Nursing Service through a proactive approach to capacity-building and professional development. He has established a structured system to ensure that nursing personnel are professionally prepared and equipped with a clear and progressive career path. Through his initiative, four nursing staff were sent to attend both Basic and Advanced Supervisory Courses, enhancing their leadership and managerial competencies. He also ensured staff participation in a variety of professional conventions, seminars, and continuing education activities, both within and beyond the military setting, thereby allowing them to remain current with the evolving practices and trends in modern nursing.

One of his most commendable achievements is the successful accreditation of Kuta Cesar Sang-an Station Hospital as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provider by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). This has empowered nursing personnel to fulfill their CPD requirements while continuously enhancing their clinical expertise and administrative acumen, ultimately leading to improved patient care outcomes. Likewise, he spearheaded and facilitated relevant research initiatives that directly enhanced the overall health and well-being of soldiers. Through his vision and guidance, these studies translated into impactful programs and informed policies that strengthened military healthcare delivery. His dedication not only elevated the standard of care within the organization but also ensured that every soldier benefited from advancements in nursing science and practice.

His commitment to patient-centered care is evident in the implementation of the Cesar Sang-an Pangkalusugan Package Program, designed to promote wellness and extend healthcare services to the underserved troops of the Tabak Division. The program includes health education on topics such as Healthy Lifestyle, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Mental Health, Stress Management, Basic First Aid, and W.I.L.D. Awareness. It also involves the distribution of HIV/AIDS informational materials in collaboration with the Municipal Health Office, as well as the provision of immune system boosters and water treatment agents. This initiative also extends to the dependents of military personnel through quarterly Primary Health Care activities at Tabak Elementary School, which aim to promote the health and well-being of students. These community-centered efforts include feeding programs and the distribution of school supplies, hygiene kits, and other essential items, further exemplifying his commitment to building a healthier and more resilient community.

LTC Reginaldo’s strategic thinking and calm leadership during crises, whether operational or public health-related, have been instrumental in fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and accountability. Beyond his administrative achievements, he serves as a mentor and role model for the next generation of nurse leaders. He devotes time to coaching and guiding junior officers, sharing his knowledge, and reinforcing the values of professionalism, compassion, and dedication. He leads by example, never demanding more from his team than he himself is willing to give. His humility, despite his many accomplishments, only deepens the respect and admiration he commands. LTC Reginaldo truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. He is a beacon of hope during times of uncertainty, a model of nursing excellence, and a steadfast advocate for both his patients and his team.
