October 2025 Honoree
Joseph Ilardo, RN
In this field, we often witness how nurses give their all to stabilize a patient - doing everything within their power to make a difference. I've seen that dedication countless times, but I never imagined what it would feel like to be on the other side. Despite all my knowledge and experience in this profession, my heart and mind were not prepared for this moment.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Joe for caring for my grandfather until his very last moment - for being there for him, for giving his all, and for taking the time to teach me about his condition and what was happening every step of the way.
Thank you for your compassion and for showing once again that nursing is far more than just a job.
Thank you for allowing my entire family to be present, for every hug, and for the comfort and support you gave me while continuing your work.
I will be forever grateful. I truly believe God placed you in that moment for a reason, and my family and I are deeply thankful to you. You are truly a blessing.
